VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position title: Regional IPD Coordinator

Working location: Nairobi, Kenya

Direct Supervisor: Institutional Partnership Development Advisor

Region: Eastern and Southern Africa (ESAF)

Contract duration: 1 year with a possibility of renewal.

Context of the Organization

Established in 1949, SOS Children’s Villages International (CVI) is a dynamic, international social development organization working globally to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children without parental care and those who are at the risk of losing it.

The Eastern and Southern Africa (ESAF) region of SOS CV International is headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It also has a branch office in Nairobi. It has member associations (MA’s) in Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia/Somaliland, Djibouti, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Namibia, Mauritius, Angola and Madagascar.

We are searching for a vibrant, thorough, energetic candidate experienced in working with grant management systems, scoping for institutional donor funding opportunities and funding pipeline management to join our organization as a Regional Institutional Partnership Development Coordinator. The successful candidate will support in maintaining our grants management system to ensure data quality; analyze, synthesize and report on performance on a monthly quarterly basis; scope for funding opportunities and manage a funding pipeline for the region ESAF.

You will play a critical role in building the capacity of the ESAF regional office and cluster countries in grant acquisition and effective grant management. The position will be offered for an initial one-year, renewable.

 

Mission of the position:

The Institutional Partnership Coordinator will manage our grant management system, scope for funding opportunities, and support in CN Development and manage our pipeline in order to significantly diversify and increase the financial resources available to scale our impact.

 

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

Research and Fund Analysis

Monitor funding trends and advise on priorities based on available data.
Scope for funding opportunities from various online sources and provide information to MA’s. Track published opportunities.
Analyze calls for proposal and advise relevant MAs to apply to the opportunities.
Carry out desk-based market data collection and analysis and share with relevant colleagues and partners,
Maintain a funding pipeline for anticipated calls for proposals, ongoing applications and submitted applications.
Support in the development of CNs in collaboration with the PD team and MAs
Grant Management and Monitoring

Regularly monitor and oversee the data quality in ProDIGI (grant management system), and liaise directly with the MAs to update the records;
Lead the training of new Regional and MA IPD colleagues on ProDIGI;
Where necessary, support NAs to create a new ProDIGI records and update existing records to ensure all records are up to date.
Lead data cleaning tasks for Grants-related projects in ProDIGI as assigned from the International Office;
Represent ESAF IPD by attending monthly ProDIGI Key Users meetings;
Inform IOR IPD colleagues and MAs on the latest updates and changes in ProDIGI;
Coordinate the approvals of MOUs and Partnership Agreements, contract amendments and variations addendums, etc.
Correspondence and Reporting

Communicate to MAs on fundraising investments available as required and monitor their expenditure;
Prepare timely reports on Strategic Federation Project (SFP6) actions for International Office;
Prepare timely reports on Co-Funding Mechanism for International Office;
Analyze, synthesize and report on ESAF IPD performance on a quarterly basis;
Partnership and Networking

Organize, coordinate and lead the annual Regional IPD Network Meeting and draft the meeting report;
Undertake partner and competitor research, summarize partnering options, assist in the development of pre-bid agreements.
Support the coordination of Regional partnership meetings
Scope and share networking opportunities such as relevant thematic events, donor meetings and stakeholder forums that SOS can participate in
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in grant management systems, scoping for funding opportunities and management of funding pipelines.
A Degree in from a recognized University
Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines.
A good team player, innovative and creative, demonstrating high professional standards.
Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
